2019 Building Project

Update 31/10/19

The project is now complete and we met here again last Sunday.  We'd love for you to join us any Sunday at 10.30 or 7pm.

Update 22/10/19

We're nearly home! The renovations are complete and the builders have left! There is cleaning, final fixes and sound system cabling underway and we will be back meeting at the Chapel site from this Sunday, 27th October. Don't forget to move your clocks back on Saturday evening though! 🎉🎉🎉

Update 19/09/19

We are pleased to say that the project continues to run on budget and schedule with an expected finish date of the 11th October. The heating system is being pressure tested and the boiler room should be commissioned by the end of the month. The stage is being constructed and baptismal pool tiled in the next few days. The paint is going on the walls in the chapel and Middle Hall and the doors between those two rooms have been fitted.

It will take a little while to get the building clean and ready for Sunday meetings to resume, so keep an eye out for an announcement about when that will be.

Update 15/08/19

The Chapel Refurbishment is going well. The boiler room has been stripped out ready for the new boilers, the baptistry repaired and prepared for new tiling and drainage, the walls have been prepared for plastering and the doorway into the middle hall widened. At a project meeting on the 8th August the contractor advised that the project was running on time, and, at this stage, there is a healthy saving on the contract sum.

It has come to our attention that parking in Asda is only permitted from 11 am on Sundays. Therefore anyone parking there to come to the service at the BB Hall runs risk of getting a parking fine.

Update 11/07/19

Just a reminder that from Sunday 14th July, our morning services will be held at the BB Hall just a few hundred metres further up the Broadway. This is to enable our renovations to take place on the Chapel site. Please note the following arrangements for our children and youth groups:

Creche: We don’t have facilities here for creche until the 8th September. We welcome parents keeping their babies in the service and are not worried about any noise they may make! Do bring a toy or two to keep them amused.

Alpha and Beta: These groups will join in the start of the service here at the BB Hall and then meet upstairs.

Gamma: Children in Gamma should be dropped off to Trinity at 10.15 am They will meet in their usual classroom and be brought up to the BB Hall at 11.15 am.

Delta and YP: Children and Youth in Delta and YP will meet in their usual rooms at Trinity from 10.15 am until 11.45 am They should be dropped off at Trinity at 10.15 and collected immediately after the end of the service.

News 05/07/19

We are excited to say we’ll be starting a big renovation project at Trinity very soon. We will be replacing the heating system throughout the building and renovating the main chapel with a larger stage, renovated baptismal pool and complete redecoration. This will mean lots of changes to our weekly activities here, not least our Sunday services.

From Sunday 14th July Sunday morning services will be held at 10.30 am at the Boys Brigade Hall between Christ Church and Asda just a few hundred yards further up The Broadway.

Sunday evening services will be held at 7 pm in our upstairs hall.

The Foodbank will continue to open on Monday at 1 - 3.30 pm and Friday at 10.30 - 12.30 pm in the back hall – come to the side door of Trinity.

Baby and Co will meet at the Boys Brigade Hall when they resume after the Summer holidays - check their page for the end of term plans.

Street Pastors and School Pastors will continue to be based at Trinity.

In order to be ready for the start date, we need to clear the chapel area completely. Members and Friends have been emailed details of how you can help – please check this email and respond ASAP – many hands make light work! We’ll be keeping this page and our website up to date with updates when we have them.
